Pitchworks 1.0: Stop Guessing. Start Measuring.

Today marks the public debut of Pitchworks—a pitch tracking app built from the ground up for high school baseball coaches, players, and families who want real answers instead of hunches.

The Problem with "Feels"

Most pitchers have no idea what they actually throw. They know their fastball "feels" fast and their curveball "usually" works. But feelings don't reveal why the third inning always falls apart, or whether that new changeup grip is actually improving command.

Data does.

Pitchworks captures what happens on every pitch—velocity, location, outcome—and transforms it into insights you can act on. Not someday, but between innings. Not with a statistics degree, but with a glance.

Built for the Pace of the Game

Forget clipboards and messy spreadsheets. Pitchworks is designed for real-time data entry during games and practice sessions. Four taps to log a pitch. The interface stays out of your way so you can focus on what matters: the next pitch.

See the Full Picture

After every session, Pitchworks generates charts and statistics that show pitcher performance at a glance:

  • Velocity tracking with trends over time
  • Strike zone heat maps and accuracy percentages
  • Pitch type breakdowns
  • Per-zone opponent batting averages
  • Strike and speed progression charts

Compare today's bullpen to last month's game. Identify patterns that paper logs could never reveal—like which counts lead to walks, or how velocity drops after 40 pitches.

Works Anywhere

High school baseball happens on patchy fields with inconsistent Wi-Fi and limited time between games. Pitchworks works offline, requires no account setup, and respects that you have a team to coach—not an app to babysit.

Share Your Results

Generate PDF reports to share with players, parents, or coaching staff with a single tap. Every session becomes documented evidence of work put in and progress made.

Who It's For

  • Coaches who want data-driven insights without complexity
  • Players who want to understand their strengths and areas for improvement
  • Parents who want to support their pitcher's development with real numbers

Why 1.0 Matters

This release represents months of refinement based on real use in real dugouts. The interface has been tuned for speed. The reports have been redesigned for clarity. The data pipeline has been hardened to handle incomplete information gracefully.

Pitchworks is ready. Your pitcher's next level is waiting.

Pitchworks Privacy Policy

Last Updated: December 2025

Foster Brereton ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Pitchworks mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our App.

Our Commitment to Your Privacy

Pitchworks is designed with privacy as a core principle. All your data stays on your device. We do not operate servers that store your pitch data, session information, or any personal information. You maintain complete control over your data at all times.

Information We Collect

Pitch and Session Data (Stored Locally Only)

The App records baseball pitch data that you create during use, including:

  • Pitch speeds
  • Pitch types, zones, and swing outcomes you record
  • Pitcher profiles (names, handedness, pitch arsenal)
  • Session information (date, opponent, venue, notes)
  • App settings and preferences

This data is stored exclusively on your device in the App's private storage area. We never transmit this data to our servers or any third party. You can export, share, or delete this data at any time through the App's settings.

Crash and Error Reports

To improve App stability and fix bugs, we use Sentry, a third-party crash reporting service. When the App encounters an error or crash, the following technical information may be sent to Sentry:

  • Error type and diagnostic information
  • App version and iOS version
  • Device model
  • Anonymous session identifiers generated by the Sentry service

Crash reports do not include:

  • Your pitch data or statistics
  • Pitcher names or session information
  • Any personal information you enter in the App
  • Your name, email, or contact information

Sentry's privacy practices are governed by their own Privacy Policy.

Information We Do Not Collect

We want to be clear about what we do not collect:

  • Personal identification information (name, email, phone number, address)
  • Location data
  • Photos or media from your device
  • Contacts or calendar information
  • Advertising identifiers or tracking data
  • Usage analytics or behavioral data
  • Payment or financial information

The App does not require account creation, registration, or login.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your data to third parties.

The App provides features that allow you to share your data:

  • PDF Reports: You can generate statistical reports and share them via the iOS share sheet (AirDrop, Messages, Email, etc.). You choose the recipient.
  • Session Export: You can export session files to back up or transfer your data. You control where these files are saved or sent.

All sharing is initiated by you and goes directly to the destination you choose. We have no access to shared data.

Data Security

Your data is protected by:

  • iOS App Sandbox: The App's data is isolated and inaccessible to other apps on your device.
  • Device Encryption: When your device is locked with a passcode or biometric authentication, iOS encrypts all app data.

Data Retention and Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

  • Data persists until you delete it
  • You can delete individual pitches, sessions, or pitchers at any time
  • You can clear all App data using "Clear Everything" in Settings
  • Uninstalling the App removes all associated data from your device

Crash reports sent to Sentry are retained according to Sentry's data retention policies.

Children's Privacy

We recognize that baseball apps are frequently used by young athletes. Because the App:

  • Does not collect personal information
  • Does not require account creation
  • Stores all data locally on the device
  • Does not include advertising or in-app purchases

The App is suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or applicable age in your jurisdiction), and the App's design ensures no such collection occurs.

Third-Party Services

The App integrates only one third-party service:

  • Sentry (crash reporting) - Receives only technical error data as described above

The App does not include:

  • Advertising networks
  • Analytics services (beyond crash reporting)
  • Social media integrations
  • Any other third-party tracking

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.

Your Rights

Because your data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:

  • Access: All your data is viewable within the App
  • Export: You can export your data at any time
  • Deletion: You can delete any or all data at any time
  • Portability: Export files can be transferred to other devices
